We're the Pembroke Pageturners and meet to read our way through the longlists and then shortlists for Carnegie Medal and Greenaway Award. We love to talk about what we've read and give our opinions on the books, even if we don't always agree.
The club meets every week from March to June.
Watch, read and listen to more about this year's shortlists
Our verdict: The group was divided between Patrick Ness for The Ask and the Answer, Julie Hearn's Rowan the Strange and Terry Pratchett's Nation. There Are Cats in this Book by Marc Craste and Helen Ward was the hot favourite for the Greenaway Award.
The Carnegie Medal was won by Neil Gaiman for The Graveyard Book. The Kate Greenaway Medal was awarded to Freya Blackwood for Harry and Hopper.

If you haven't yet read them, get down to your Library and read the series!
This week's English and Welsh words are:
miasma
llipa
Thanks to Levi and Jake for this week's words!
Tell us what either or both words mean and you can choose a word for next week!

I pray no child of mine should ever descend into such a place as a Library. They are indeed most dangerous places and unfortunate is she or he who is lured into such a hellhole of enjoyment, stimulus, facts, passion and fun.
